Qualifications

A/AS Levels
All A Levels are two-year courses, which are often preparation to degree studies. After successful completion of three modules in the first year, you will achieve an AS (Advanced Subsidiary) award, a qualification in its own right. At this point, you have two choices. Continue on with the subject to A2 (the second year of the course) or drop it, and choose a different AS level to go on with.

BTECs
This advanced vocational qualification is recognised by employers and universities as being of equal value to A Levels. These courses can be studies as Double Awards, equal to two A Levels or as Single Awards, worth one.

GSCEs
These courses are for the General Certificate of Secondary Education and are open to school leavers and adults. Most students take their GCSEs in Years 10 and 11. These courses are graded between A to G.

Disclaimer

Whilst every effort is made to keep our course factsheets up to date, all courses can be subject to occasional changes in specification, and all courses require a minimum number of enrolments in order to run.

The designation of full-time (FT) is variable and flexible, and in many cases student-led; it is a minimum of 12.5 hours per week, and in many cases less than 16 hours.
