Knowsley Community College Students Don Cap and Gown - 11/11/2009
Students and staff of Knowsley Community College gathered at the Kirkby Suite on Wednesday, 4th November for their annual Celebration of Achievement evening. The ceremony recognises the hard work of students who have achieved at Levels 3 and 4 and provides an opportunity for employers, parents, relatives and friends to join in the celebrations as well. The event is a highlight of the College calendar and was particularly well attended this year, emphasising the diversity of skills and talent possessed by the students and local community.
During the ceremony, certificates were presented to students who completed courses in 2009. A number of Special Awards were also given out to achievers selected by College staff for individual recognition. Degree Level students wore the traditional Cap and Gown, which is an entitlement for those who succeed at this level of study.
A fantastic evening was had by all, with the night including entertainment from the College’s Performing Arts and Music students, and guest speeches from Patricia McDonagh from the AAT and Di McEvoy-Robinson, partner of Aspire Achieve Advance LLP.
Frank Gill, Principal, said at the event, ‘ I would like to say a resounding well done to all of this year’s successful students and to wish them all well for their future careers. The majority of these students have made the decision to carry on with their education and training and that should give us great confidence for the future economic prosperity of the area. We are also very grateful to our two guest speakers, Di McEvoy Robinson and Patricia McDonagh for travelling long distances to participate in the event and helping to make it such a success.’
