A Level results 2008 - 21/08/2008
Roby Sixth Form College was buzzing with excited students on Thursday 14th August when the A Level results were released. With many students bound for Universities up and down the country, the results were the final chapter in two years of hard work at the College. Overall students in 14 subjects achieved a 100% pass rate.
Among the top achievers was Ryan Rossiter, who achieved straight A Grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. An ecstatic Ryan said, “I have had a great time at College, the Tutors have been brilliant and helped me through. I am really happy about my results, it means I have got into Liverpool University to study Maths.” Science subjects fared particularly well at the College this year with 100% pass rate in Human Biology and Science A Level.
There were double celebrations for twins Andrew and David Houghton who achieved excellent grades and are both going on to study for Degrees in Sport and Exercise Science. Art enthusiast Sarah Gustafson is going on to study for a Pre-Degree Diploma in Art and Design at the College, after attaining A Grades in Fine Art and Graphic Design.
Assistant Principal Bill Doran commented, “Congratulations and well done to the students for their hard work, we wish them every success in the future. We look forward to welcoming a new set of A Level students in September, who can follow in the same successful footsteps.”
